After practice after practice and even our season-opening games being canceled due to poor air quality, the Seahawks finally got the 2018 season started.

Our smallest Seahawks invaded Foote field with three teams representing our club in the CDMFA 6 on 6 league. All three teams Green, White and Blue played together like pros and were successful in defeating their opponents.

QB Damon Burg - Seahawks White shows some intensity as he pulls the ball down and goes on the run during the football game on Sunday at Foote Field.

QB Seth Wray-Jantz - Seahawks Blue drops back to pass

The Peewee and Bantam teams hosted games at Clarke Stadium to start the season.

The Peewee Seahawks battled our crosstown rival Mustangs in a back and forth game with big plays from both sides. The Mustangs pulled out to a 15-7 lead early, but after the early game jitters settled the Seahawk defense settled in and were able to shut down the Mustangs offense.

The Hawks would drive the field threatening to score in the second half.

#3 QB Moose (Zachary) Wetsch takes the snap and prepares to hand off to #12 RB Noah Stelmaschuk on a drive in the 2nd half.

#22 WR Caden Nichol catches a swing pass and charges for the end zone late in the 4th quarter.

The Mustangs defense would manage to hold off the Seahawk offense and would hold on to win 15-7.

The Bantam Seahawks would finish out our day at Clarke stadium by hosting St Albert Fury. The Fury would come out flying and build a 34-6 lead in the first half. In the 2nd half, the bantam Hawks would make some adjustments and mount a comeback. They made some great progress but would end up falling to the Fury 68-27.

This is a short week for the Peewee and Bantam teams as they play to make up games on Wednesday and Thursday. The Peewees will host the Sherwood Park Rams at Emerald Hills Wednesday at 6:30 pm. The Bantams will host the Camrose Buffalos at Emerald Hills Thursday at 6:30 pm. The Atoms have a bye this week and will be back in action Sept 9 at Clarke Stadium.
